Time Enjoyed Wasting

It is Saturday… Get it?! πŸ™‚ Sat.

That’s why it’s okay that I didn’t get anything productive done. Hehe. πŸ˜€

Anyway, I have to remember – β€œtime you enjoy wasting, is not time wasted”! Exactly why, loosely, I could call a day of Pinterest-ing + watching Doctor Who absolutely justifiable!!

At least, it is every once in a while…homework lies on the horizon!

Still, I did learn something today: hummus deserves to be on every salad I make from now on. The occasional globs of hummus + greens were lovely – even though it doesn’t sound too appetizing, verbally!

Monster salad of butter lettuce + spring greens, hummus, an egg, and SprouTofu baked tofu (teriyaki flavour!).

Topped with pepper + sea salt.

Sitting right alongside, a little dish of cranberry granola, kefir, pumpkin, and cinny-mon.

Marking the third can of pumpkin I’ve emptied since ~September – okay, I probably could have done better! Probably my final quota for the β€œpumpkin season”…with winter beginning to peek in!

***Notice: Do not use your small dog as a pillow! She cannot be trusted, and will leave you late in the night, allowing your neck to flop down in an odd position. The sore neck the next day is (maybe) not worth a few moments of cuddly-puppy-bliss before falling asleep!

One more (manageable!) school week left until holiday break. πŸ™‚ Then, just over half-a-month off!! Sleeeeppppp!!!

Sugary Soap Opera: Episode Two

An update from last Wednesday’s dramatic episode: my oven still isn’t fixed. 😦 Well, now, my parents have just decided it’s better to install a new one. I’ve made one batch of “no-bake” cookies this past week, but…it just wasn’t the same!

So, let’s let some positivity shine in – WIAW!! A smattering of what I’ve eaten the last few days! πŸ™‚

(I think cinnamon and bread were the theme this week!!)

Ezekiel English muffin…one half with chocolate-hazelnut butter, Wegman’s Fall Harvest cereal, coconut, and oats – the other, same, except with pumpkin instead of the choco-hazelnut spread (pear + cinnamon on the side!) :

Sandwich with hummus, SprouTofu savory baked tofu, and spring greens:

Sweet tater topped with yoghurt + cinnamon, broccoli with olive oil, and cinnamon tofu:

“Platter” of an egg + bread, carrots with Justin’s maple almond butter, sliced apple with cinnamon, and Siggi’s vanilla skyr:

PB&J oats with pumpy-kin and milk:

“Amy’s” frozen pasta shells…my “lazy” dinner! πŸ™‚ :

Pear + cinnamon:

Teeny salad of butter lettuce + spring greens, with goat cheese, raisins, olive oil, and sea salt:

Bread smeared with hummus, egg + paprika, and Brussels sprouts:

…And a happy WIAW to all!

Smells Like Christmas

I’ve actually been being a weirdo and sleeping in the living room the past few nights.

Because – we got our Christmas tree! Haha, it smells like pine, and pine smells like Christmas, and Christmas makes me giddy…apparently, I sleep more soundly when I’m happy!! (Even if I can only smell it faintly – I have a cold 😦 )

(This will only last a few more nights before my parents cast their intervention)

Sunday was tree-finding day for my dad + me:

Originally, we had an exciting plan to travel down to the state’s biggest Christmas tree farm. (They have carriage rides!)

Instead, we ended up flowing with tradition – the local tree sellers we go to every year. I’m not complaining over it, though! Their little tree line-up is adorable and always boosts the holiday feel.

We’re still going to try to make it down to the big Christmas tree farm before the 25th – for thy carriage rides!

(Look deeply into the above picture…lots ‘o little doggies! They were barking over something of severe alarm (squirrel? groundhog, maybe?) right by the tree shop.)

This weekend: tree decorating, yay!

Bah, Humbug

Saturday – wheee!

Breakfast… soft natural light, since I’m actually eating breakfast when it’s light outside!

Ezekiel English muffin: one half with pumpkin, coconut, oats and chocolate chips…other half, same, except with chunky peanut butter, instead of pumpy-kin.

+a big sliced pear with cinnamon.

Last night, was drama’s first performance of “Bah Humbug”. (ie, “The Christmas Carol!) Backstage was absolutely hectic (maybe this is just how high school theater always goes!!), but I feel like what the audience did see went well! πŸ™‚

Tonight is performance number two – I’m not my larger role tonight. Instead, just extra “odd-parts” throughout the play. At least from my perspective, it should flow slightly smoother! (No “microphone drama” for me tonight, yay!)

Oh, and school has been the inspiration for some doodles, recently!

For a “Create-Your-Own Political Party” project in history class:

…Mr. Eagle!

For… um, not paying attention in class! (Oops!) :

We’re getting our Christmas tree tomorrow, and my festivity is expanding. πŸ™‚

Happy weekend!!

WIAW + A Cause for Grief!

Yay, I’m joining the WIAW party this week! πŸ™‚ (Just some eats from the last few days, it was a little difficult to creep in a picture of everything from only today…but, I have taken a liking to photographing oatmeal!!)

Oats with coconut, a yoghurt hill, mushy banana, and chocolate chips:

Broccoli with baked tofu + olive oil:

Apple-pear (Frankenstein fruit…? πŸ™‚ ) with cinnay-mon:

Steamed butternut squash + apple, with goat cheese, raspberry dressing, cinnamon, and sea salt:

Chunky peanut butter + pumpkin (and… cinnamon!) on Wheat & Flax bread:

Bitty stash of chickpeas!

Romaine + butternut squash, raw honey, olive oil, goat cheese, s&p:

Baked tofu, hummus, and spring green sammich:

Oats with pumpkin, milk, chocolate chips, chunky peanut butter… and cinnamon. πŸ™‚

And, lots of caffeinated Clif bars – 6.5 hour drama rehearsal Monday + 7 hours on Tuesday! It’s tech week, and only two more days until the show. Ahhh! It’s a good, excited kind of scary, though! πŸ™‚

In solemn news: my family’s oven has dieeeedd. 😦 I’m currently in mourning, but getting by for now…no-bake cookies to help fund-raise for drama, and planning on making a no-bake cheesecake sometime soon!

Still, I’ve already told my mother: if we don’t get our new oven before Christmas and a holiday baking frenzy cannot be commenced, I may lose some sanity!

What It Means to be Naturally AWESOME!

Release the monster!

"Food?!" (The adults were not generous with him, but I wasn't so strong-willed!!)

The cure for my sweet-potato-hangover!

I hope evverryyone had a great Thanksgiving!! Right now, I’m working on de-cluttering unnecassary stresses from my life + grounding my mind…meaning, hopefully, more frequent posts! πŸ™‚

What it really means to be naturally awesome:

To allow yourself to be peaceful,
to allow yourself to be invigorated,
to allow yourself to be beautiful.

To fearlessly tell limits to take up space some place else, when they try to trick you into believing that they have any sort of power or control.

To sing out loudly, although very much off-key. πŸ˜‰

To jump around when your’re happy!! Release joy into the open air, where it can flourish and grow, instead of holding it entirely inside until it fades!

To make it to the end, no matter how difficult or winding the maze – you can always turn around if you go the wrong way. It doesn’t have to be a perfectly direct route!

To not let mistakes define how you feel about yourself; chances are, you have much more to be proud of, than you do little mistakes – so, wouldn’t it make more sense to put greater emphasis on the positive?! (If you can focus so hard on even the tiniest amount of “bad”, why can’t you focus on the much heavier good, instead?)

To appreciate and indulge in every little, teeny, happy thing. Do holiday Clif Bars and Christmas radio count? Of course!!

To eat lots and lots of muffins!

To understand that thoughtfulness + charity help yourself in just as many ways as they help others…the perfect two-for-one deal!

To treat your mind with the kindness you would a best friend, and your body with the respect you would a prized possession. Once you can do this, you’ll create a powerful person strong enough to handle anything!

To let positivity be your power supply…

…because negativity is far too costly, and provides very little usable energy!
